Joey King headlines new pair of films headed to Paramount + including The In Between

Joey King is set to headline a new pair of movies headed to the Paramount+ streaming service, including The In Between and another installment in Paranormal Activity franchise.

In The In Between, the 21-year-old appears alongside actor Kyle Allen. According to the studio, she plays a teen who, ‘after surviving a car accident that took the life of her boyfriend, believes he’s attempting to reconnect with her from the after world.’

Arie Posin is directing the movie with Marc Klein as screenwriter. 

The Golden Globe-nominated actress will also appear in the Paranormal Activity franchise, which has taken in $890 million in box office totals.

The streaming service announced that they will add three or four original films to its slate annually, Deadline reported, as it also has a prequel in the Pet Sematary franchise on the way.

King is currently in a relationship with producer Steven Piet, as she’s been seeing him since they worked with one another on The Act.

She was previously in a romance with Jacob Elordi, who she would go on to work with after their split, on last year’s The Kissing Booth 2. 

‘No one’s thinking to themselves, “That was easy,” because it wasn’t,’ she told Cosmopolitan last year. ‘I’m sure people will analyze every movement and every detail. 

‘And you know what? Let them. But at the end of the day, I was just thrilled to be Elle Evans again.’

She said of the character, ‘Elle Evans needs her Noah Flynn, and whatever that means for my personal life, I’ll do anything to make sure the story of my character who I care about so much is complete.’
