The red velvet blazer that’s been worn SIX times on The Bachelor and Married At First Sight and the surprising reason it’s been recycled so many times

A burgundy blazer has been worn up to six times across The Bachelor and Married At First Sight.

The garment first made its way through The Bachelorette, before making its way to The Bachelor and Married At First Sight over the next few years.

Most recently, MAFS groom Brett Helling wore the velvet blazer during his TV nuptials to rock star Booka Nile.

Style staple: A burgundy blazer has been worn up to six times across The Bachelor and Married At First Sight, including most recently by Brett Helling (pictured)

While some may be surprised to see the same piece of clothing recycled so many times on TV, there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation for it.

Both Married At First Sight and The Bachelor franchise share the same production company, and most likely, the same wardrobe department.

The ‘Sorren’ blazer is from men’s retail chain Politix, and used to retail for $329 when it first came out.

It was later discounted to $164 before going out of stock.

‘Break the internet with the Politix Sorren velvet jacket,’ the website reads.

‘Black Tie oppulence meets rock star edge with the sateen shawl lapel and sharp slim design of this dinner jacket,’ the description continues.

‘The bold burgundy colour crafts a head turning tuxedo look for the red carpet. Rock it with Politix’s new Black Tie shirts and let them stare.’

Timeless: The burgundy blazer was eventually worn by Matt Agnew (pictured) on his season of The Bachelor

Style: Dino Hira wore it on season six of Married At First Sight's sixth season

The jacket was first worn by Sasha Mielczarek on the first season of The Bachelorette with Sam Frost.

It later reappeared on Jake Ellis the next season, and then again on Blake Colman the season after that.
