£485,000 three-bed farmhouse on the edge of Snowdonia is being raffled off for just £5

A £485,000 three-bed farmhouse on the edge of Snowdonia is being raffled off for just £5 a ticket after the owners transformed it into a luxury home.

David and Christine Jones renovated a 200-year-old farmhouse over the course of 15 months to transform it into a stunning country home.

The couple are now offering the chance for a lucky winning ticket holder to get the keys to the property.

The couple bought the home in Rhoslan in Gwynedd, North Wales, for £200,000 in 2019.

They dreamed of spending their retirement there – but lockdown led to the tough decision to move closer to family 200 miles away in Lincolnshire.

Care home worker Mrs Jones, 63, said: ‘We couldn’t believe our luck when we found Cefn Isa Farmhouse, and immediately fell in love with the beautiful and unique surroundings. We could see how it must have been at its best.

‘None of us thought we would be living in anything like the current situation and because of it we have made the difficult decision to return to the Lincolnshire area where most of our family live, so we can be closer and support them better.’

The home dates back to 1811 and sits near to the picturesque Llyn Peninsula and Snowdonia National Park.

It boasts stunning wooden ceiling beams and an original log burning fireplace in the newly renovated lounge and kitchen.

It took 15 months to transform the home

The property’s flooring had to be taken up entirely during the 15 months of renovation works in order to turn it into a luxurious, three bedroom home

The bespoke kitchen also has vaulted ceilings with stylish skylights which allow the light to flood in.

Three bedrooms are found upstairs – including two with south-facing windows with ocean views.

The couple are selling their home in a raffle to raise money for The Children’s Society.

Military veteran Mr Jones, 65, said: ‘We chose to sell the farmhouse through a competition because everybody wins.

‘We’re able to get the full market value for our home, The Children’s Society gets money they need to help, and someone is going to get a wonderful home for free.

‘We’ve supported The Children’s Society for a long time, and we thought what better way to help during the pandemic than raising money for the most vulnerable children.
