Jamie was granted conservatorship over his daughter in 2008 – giving him control over her financial and medical decisions – after she faced mental health struggles, which put her in hospital.

Framing Britney Spears will also feature the 39-year-old’s rise to stardom – from her early childhood to her first record deal, onto becoming subject to severe scrutiny in the media.

The documentary premiered in the United States last month – hitting screens on the FX channel and Hulu.

Since airing, the filmmakers have voiced their desire to make a sequel as they have ‘so much’ more material to work with.

Framing Britney Spears took a deep dive into the life and career of the Toxic artist, revealing the many ways her narrative had been manipulated by the media and those in her life, leading to her mental health struggles and her ongoing conservatorship woes.

Commenting on the outpouring of new information from people who watched the documentary, Liz said: ‘Yeah. And I think something that’s happened as well is the documentary has helped us earn the trust of even more people.

‘As we talked about earlier, people have been very distrustful of the press because they’ve felt burned in the past and I think the documentary’s very sensitive treatment and respect of all parties and everyone helped us further.’
