Bindi Irwin’s daughter won’t call Terri ‘grandma’ as she reveals the special name to be used instead… after Kris Jenner also refused to be called ‘gran’
Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner refuses to be called ‘granny’ by her 10 grandchildren, instead opting for the moniker of ‘lovey’.
And it appears the Irwins are also planning to reject the ‘grandma’ title when Bindi give birth to her first daughter next month.
‘We spent a long time searching for grandma names that also had an animal link,’ Bindi, 22, told The Bump of Terri’s, 56, alternative nickname.

While Bindi has yet to settle on a name for her first-born daughter, she was happy to share the name her daughter would use for Terri.
‘We decided that she’s going to be called “Bunny”. When she was growing up in Oregon her neighbour down the street was always called “Bunny”,’Bindi confirmed.
She added: ‘It only just dawned on us that it wasn’t her name but rather that everyone called her since she was a grandmother figure to the entire neighborhood.’

Bindi and husband Chandler also joked that Bindi’s younger brother Robert, 17, had decided to ‘upgrade’ his title as uncle to ‘funcle’: ‘It means fun uncle. I love it!’
The couple announced they were expecting their first child together in August last year, and revealed a month later they were having a girl.
‘Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021. Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting!’ Bindi wrote on Instagram at the time.
Bindi and Chandler enjoy a close relationship with her family, and they all live and work together at Australia Zoo, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Kardashian momager Kris told People in 2013 that she coined her own nickname for the little ones to use as she wasn’t keen on ‘grandma’.
She said at the time: ‘They call me Lovey… At first I was Grandma, and all of a sudden I didn’t like the way that sounded, my mom had a friend called Lovey and I thought that was the cutest name.’
When Australian singer Sia become a grandmother at the age of 44 last year, she also joked of choosing another youthful name for ‘grandma’.
Speaking to DJ Zane Lowe on his Apple Music podcast last July, the musician, whose real name is Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, said her adopted children call her ‘nana’.
The Grammy-nominated artist joked that she was trying to get her grandchildren to call her ‘Lovey’ instead, like Kris Jenner.
