Sam Worthington carries a V energy drink outside rehearsals in Sydney

He’s been busy rehearsing the upcoming Sydney Theatre Company production of the Wesley Enoch-directed comedy Appropriate. 

And Sam Worthington apparently needed some caffeine to get him through the day on Wednesday.

The Avatar star, 44, was spotted leaving rehearsals in Sydney carrying a V energy drink while clad in head-to-toe black. 

The Terminator Salvation actor wore dark jeans, along with a T-shirt bearing the word ‘EQUALITY’.

He also wore a zip-up hoodie and continued the colour theme with black sneakers.

The father of three wore his long hair in a man bun beneath a trucker cap.

While Sam is busy with stage work now, there’s currently buzz that he’ll be back on the big screen in the future in the long-awaited sequel to Avatar.

Avatar 2 is said to take place 12 years after the events of the first movie, following Jake Sully, played by Worthington, as he continues to roam the planet of Pandora with the new family he has with Neytiri, played by Zoe Saldana.

It also stars Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Edie Falco, Cliff Curtis, Oona Chaplin, Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis.

Avatar 2 is slated to premiere on December 16, 2022, and Avatar 3 on December 20, 2024.  

There are also plans for two more sequels that have release dates of December 18, 2026, and December 22, 2028, respectively.

However, director James Cameron has stated they won’t be made if Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 don’t make enough money at the box office.

The original 2009 film became the highest-grossing movie of all time, raking in $2.79billion worldwide on a $237million budget and earning nine Oscar nominations.

Sam was last seen in the Netflix film Fractured.
