Coleen Rooney enjoys a hike in the countryside with husband Wayne and their son Kit in sweet snap

She’s in the midst of a bitter legal battle with WAG Rebekah Vardy.

But Coleen Rooney enjoyed some much-needed family time as she headed out for a hike in the countryside with husband Wayne and their third son Kit, five, on Wednesday.

The mother-of-four, 34, beamed in the sweet snap shared by her footballer husband, 35, as they walked in the chilly sunshine.

Coleen wrapped up in a padded black jacket and a cream beanie hat as she and Wayne headed out for a walk with their son.

The family were joined by their pet Pomeranian as they enjoyed some exercise during the Covid lockdown.

Last month Wayne officially announced his retirement from professional football following a 19-year career after he was named as permanent manager for Derby County. 

On Monday Coleen and Wayne also celebrated their youngest son Cass’ third birthday with a fireman-themed party.  

The proud mum shared images of Cass and his brothers enjoying the celebration, with the star captioning her snaps: ‘Our beautiful baby boy is 3 today!’ 

In one image, Coleen proudly clutched her little one as they grinned for the picture beneath a colourful balloon arch in hues of blue, yellow and red. 

While another sees Cass posing with his older brothers Kai, 11, Klay, seven, and Kit.

The birthday boy also took centre-stage as he posed for an adorable solo photo, with the excited youngster throwing his hands in the air.

And his parents Coleen and retired footballer dad Wayne, 34, certainly pulled out all the stops as in addition to the balloon arch, Cass stood alongside a giant balloon ‘3’ and a sign that read ‘Fireman Cass’.

Coleen also shared a picture of a personalised card, filled with several images of the tot.

Captioning her post, she penned: ‘Our beautiful baby boy is 3 today! Cass Mc Roo we love you. Best smiler going. Have the best birthday!’

Wayne also shared the same images and wrote his own tribute to his boy which read: ‘Happy 3rd Birthday to the youngest member of the family! Have the best day Cass.’

Coleen’s post comes after her Zoom mediation hearing with Rebekah Vardy earlier this month, which saw herself and the Dancing On Ice star, 38, attempt to settle their dispute in a bid to avoid a High Court showdown.

However, they failed to come to a resolution after the Liverpudlian accused her former friend of leaking stories about her to the press. 

Zoom proceedings began with both sides reading out a statement and then breaking off into separate virtual rooms as the mediator spoke to them and their legal representatives independently. 

The former columnist reportedly tried to reach out to the brunette after another round of failed talks to avoid a costly legal battle. 

However it’s thought that she saw the mediation as a ‘waste of time’ as TV star Becky continues to demand she apologise for her fierce accusation. 

Coleen’s attempts for a peace deal with Rebekah are said to have been denied as the mother-of-five continues to demand she apologises for accusing her of leaking stories to the press. 

A source told The Sun: ‘Nothing’s changed. There’s been no progress, no chink of light at the end of the tunnel — and no prospect of avoiding court. As far as Coleen’s concerned mediation was a waste of time.

‘Coleen won’t apologise. She’s convinced she’s right about Becky leaking stories to the press and thinks she’s made a reasonable offer. She refuses to do another mediation meeting and is now preparing for court.’

It’s thought that lawyers for both stars have reported to the court with an update on the mediation talks.
