Chezzi Denyer reveals the sentimental meaning behind newborn baby Sunday Mary Mae’s name – and the cute nickname her daughters Scout and Sailor have given her
Chezzi and Grant Denyer welcomed their gorgeous newborn daughter, Sunday Mary Mae, into the world last week.
And on Tuesday, the mum-of-three explained the sentimental reason they chose her adorable moniker, as well as the adorable nickname their daughters Scout, five, and Sailor, nine, have given her.
Alongside a picture cradling her newborn, Chezzi, 41, wrote: ‘I’ve always loved the name Sunday. The girls call her Sunny for short.

‘Given what a burst of love and happiness this baby represents for us, the name just seemed perfect.’
She added that Sunday is her and Grant’s favourite day of the week, because it was the only day they used to be able to spend together at home as a couple.
Chezzi added that Sunday’s middle name, Mary, comes from her grandmother who she ‘adored’.
‘She called me her little Cher-relski. She taught me how to cheat at card games. She taught me how to laugh at myself. She had a wonderful sense of humour,’ she recalled. ‘Very special memories.’

She added that Sunday’s other middle name Mae was discovered from her ancestry, adding: ‘Going back many hundreds of years ago the name was given to some pretty special females in my family tree.
‘Very pretty, and I adore the different spelling.’
Chezzi gave birth on Wednesday, but the couple waited until Friday to announce the happy news.
Grant shared a photo of himself and Chezzi taken shortly after Sunday’s birth on Instagram to confirm the arrival.

‘Chezzi was incredible and bub is just heart-melting perfection. We are very blessed.
‘She was actually born on Wednesday the 10th but we’ve been keeping it our little family secret, until her sisters Sailor & Scout were allowed to see her this morning, once hospital Covid rules were relaxed overnight.
‘Sunday is an angelic 3.24kg / 7lb 2.5oz, already on the boob and fast becoming Dad’s super dooper little cuddle monster.’
He added: ‘Our hearts are full and our home is now too with 3 of the most incredible lady bosses a father could ever hope for.’
