He has never been afraid to show off his toned physique and washboard abs.

And Aston Merrygold revealed the strangest part of The Masked Singer UK was ‘covering up’ his body under his Robin disguise, as he admitted he’s spent his ‘whole life trying to take clothes off’.

However, the JLS singer, 33, confirmed it was refreshing not having to ‘tense my abs all the time’ as he reflected on his experience on the ITV programme and finishing in third place.

‘It’s a bit nuts. But it was nice not tensing my abs all the time.

‘I was really kind of Conor McGregor, you know, swagger. It was outland-ish. It was fun.’

He also revealed that he was forced to brush off questions from his bandmates as they begun to suspect he was participating on the show.

Aston admitted you can’t build friendships over the course of ten-plus-years and expect those friends to forget what you sound like.

Panellists Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Rita Ora all guessed that the JLS singer was hiding beneath the elaborate bird disguise before he was finally unveiled.

Saturday’s final saw Joss Stone crowned as the winner after she was revealed to be Sausage while Ne-Yo finished in second and Aston came third.
