Despite her impressive music career, Joss added that it’s actually her partner Cody who sings the most to their little girl.

She said: ‘Cody sings more to Violet than I do. He’s very good at writing children’s songs.’

The star also told how being pregnant while in her heavy Sausage costume proved difficult as she struggled to breathe.

She explained: ‘I didn’t realise how breathless I was going to be. I didn’t know it was a side effect of pregnancy.

‘Your lungs are half of what they normally are and I’m hitting these massive songs that need a lot of breath and then I put on this massive suit…Just walking out I was like huuuhhh I can’t breathe!’

When asked if she had any reservations about wearing the mask, she said: ‘Only when I was trying to catch my breath but really, it was all good.

‘The people who work on the show are lovely. The way it’s come across to everyone watching is giving good energy.’

The You Had Me singer, beat Aston Merrygold (Robin) and Ne-Yo (Badger) in the grand final, with everyone believing that Sausage was either Stacey Solomon or Sheridan Smith.

Sharing how difficult it was to keep the secret, she explained: ‘It was very hard.

‘People around me were constantly trying to guess what I was doing in these weeks. Some people even got mad because I wouldn’t tell them.

‘It’s really been quite funny how crazy people get when you keep secrets from them. Madness!’

On why she disguised herself as a Sausage, she added: ‘I thought I didn’t want people to recognise me. Sausage is perfect, because I’m a vegetarian. It’s not girly. I thought, let’s do a curveball.

‘It was brilliant. We need to be able to laugh and not take life so seriously.’
