Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes returned to This Morning on Monday for the first time since they were axed from their Friday slot.
The presenters, aged 60 and 61 respectively, delighted viewers as they enthused: ‘It’s lovely to have them back where they belong!’, after the pair replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in December following a 14-year stint.
Stepping in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, the broadcasters will front the programme from Monday to Friday over the course of the half-term period this week.

The couple made a cheery comeback, with Eamonn sharing: ‘Half term it’s Eamon and Ruth on your screens until Friday.’
Ruth – who has been married to the Northern Irish host since 2010 following a 13-year relationship – added: ‘It certainly is and it’s lovely to see you all.’
The journalist went on to reflect on receiving the Covid-19 Oxford/ AstraZeneca vaccine after being called early to a jab centre in Surrey on Saturday.
‘I was absolutely delighted. There I am with the lovely Stephanie’, the Loose Women panellist said.

The vaccine is prioritised for citizens over the age of 65, but the mother-of-one revealed she was called early after receiving a message from the NHS.
Ruth said: ‘I questioned this. I got the text, I’m 61 [in March] and said, this is too early. I phoned my surgery they said no no, that’s absolutely right. Everyone was lovely. It was quick, it was painless, I feel very lucky I’ve got mine.’
Viewers took to Twitter to voiced their joy over their return as they wrote: ‘Eamonn and Ruth actually give me life. It’s like watching my mum and dad on the TV.

They marked their final Friday show in December, and have since expressed their gratitude towards fans for their ‘overwhelming’ support following their demotions.
After it was confirmed that former Big Brother personality Alison, 45, and presenter Dermot, 47, would be replacing the couple, a media storm exploded with talk of rage behind-the-scenes.
The TV stars began their coveted jobs on January 8, joining the line-up that also includes main hosts Phillip, 58, and Holly, 40, while Ruth and Eamonn only present the show during school breaks.
Since their debut, Alison and Dermot reportedly received higher ratings on This Morning than their predecessors.
They’ve proven to be a hit on the show as they were said to have drawn in 1.41 million viewers during their first show last month.
According to reports from The Sun , the pair received 200,000 more viewers tuning into their show than Ruth and Eamonn’s final Friday appearance.
The publication claimed that while the This Morning newbies drew in more viewers, the veterans had a bigger audience share of 23 per cent compared to their successor’s 21 per cent. MailOnline contacted ITV representatives for comment at the time.
