Dancing On Ice’s Rebekah Vardy perfects the headbanger move with Andy Buchanan

She fell over during training earlier this week and previously sliced her skating partner’s face open when they practiced a new move.

And Rebekah Vardy proved she is fearless on Sunday as she executed the jaw-dropping headbanger move with Andy Buchananon on Dancing On Ice.

The WAG, 38, was lifted by her ankles and swung around on the ice by her professional skating partner, a move that left a previous star needing stitches.

Yikes! Rebekah Vardy proved she is fearless on Sunday as she executed the jaw-dropping headbanger move with Andy Buchananon on Dancing On Ice

Rebekah and Andy took on the role of Ross and Rachel from the classic sitcom, Friends, despite the mother-of-five’s claim that she has never watched the series before.

In their routine, she jumped across a sofa – a reference to the couch in the iconic Central Perk cafe – and leapt into the air before returning to the ice where her skating partner proceeded to grab her leg.

Andy then spun Rebekah around for the petrifying move, her Rachel-inspired wig miraculously remained firmly in place.

The professional skater strategically lowered her onto the ice before she swivelled around on her stomach to give a beaming smile to the camera and conclude their performance.

The judges praised the duo for taking on the headbanger move, and all submitted high scores. However presenter Holly Willoughby admitted she was too scared to watch.

On the first series of Dancing On Ice in 2006, professional skater Pam O’Connor split her chin open when former goalkeeper David Seaman failed to achieve the notorious move during their routine.

She was rushed to hospital and received stitches in her chin.

It was revealed prior to Sunday’s show that contestant Jason Donovan would not compete this week as he recovers from back pain.

An ITV representative confirmed the Australian actor and singer, 52 – who is competing on the show with professional skater Alexandra Schauman – has been advised to rest after suffering from back pain, but has vowed to return next week.

Former Neighbours star Jason said in a statement: ‘I’ve had back pain the past couple of days and I’m under doctor’s orders to take it easy and sit this week out.

‘I’m resting up, I’ll be watching from home and cheering everyone on and I look forward to returning next week.’

The musician’s break from the programme comes just days after Emmerdale’s Joe-Warren Plant and his partner Vanessa Bauer were forced to withdraw after they both tested positive for COVID-19.

TV star Joe’s exit is the latest in a string of blows, after Billie Faiers, Denise Van Outen and Rufus Hound all bowed out of this year’s show, prompting viewers to call the 2021 edition ‘cursed’.

Host Phillip Schofield joked on Sunday’s Valentine’s Day episode that he and Holly Willoughby would have to perform to make up the numbers.

Phil turned to Holly and quipped: ‘It’ll be us skating at this rate!’

Holly didn’t seemed thrilled with the notion, nervously giggling and replying: ‘Oh, don’t say that!’
