Speaking about the end of an era, both Centineo, 24, and Condor, 23, expressed a range of emotions as they close this chapter in their careers – while dishing on the film’s ending.

Closing a chapter: The third and final installment, To All The Boys: Always And Forever, hit the streaming platform on February 12 where viewers were finally able to see how the teenage love story between Lara Jean (Lana Condor) and Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) ends

Inspired by Jenny Han’s novels, the movie adaptations have become wildly popular with teens and adults, alike, since the first film To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before debuted on Netflix in 2018.

In the latest film, the characters transition from high school to adulthood, where Lara Jean is left with a tough decision – follow her heart and attend the college of her dreams or stay geographically close to Peter.

Though the ending of the movie seems to deviate a bit from the book, Condor told ET that she ‘loved it.’

‘It was very important for me when we were starting to talk about the third movie… that the choices she makes are about her future and her future as a young woman going out and living her life.’

‘I really appreciate that at the end of the film, it feels very satisfying for me to see her make a choice on her own and step out into the world on her own. And she follows her heart in a new way,’ she added.

Speaking about saying goodbye to his character, Centineo told E! News’ Daily Pop: ‘It’s bittersweet. Like in life, all things must come to an end. I feel like of all the ways to tie something up and to end, I mean, I think this is a really beautiful way to say goodbye.’

Condor echoed his sentiments as she said ‘It’s so overwhelming. Let me tell you right now, I am fully in denial. I have not processed, not a single thing.’

Describing just one of many emotional fan encounters she’s had over the years on account of bringing Lara’s love story to the big screen, she told Yahoo Entertainment that those experiences make it all worth it.

‘I saw this girl in the front of the crowd and she had this handwritten note that she was holding up, and it just said, “You saved my life,” and that moment, I will never, ever forget. All the noise went away, and all I saw was her. And I realized that if these movies just saved one person’s life, that’s it. I’ve done it.’
