‘P is full of Pride’: Blue’s Clues & You promotes inclusive values in alphabet song

A new clip from Blue’s Clues & You aims toward LGBTQ inclusivity with the message ‘P is full of Pride.’

The YouTube clip, which hit the format Thursday, is titled the ABC Song w/ Blue!, as each of the alphabet’s 26 letter are reviewed by Blue (Traci Paige Johnson provides the vocals).

In the sequence for the letter P, the song lyrics are P is full of Pride, with accompanying graphics of the rainbow LGBTQ pride flag, in addition to flags representing the trans, asexual, pansexual, intersex and gender-fluid communities, as well.

The song has not yet been broadcast on Nickelodeon, a network rep told EW, adding that it’s currently a YouTube exclusive.

Broadway’s Joshua Dela Cruz is the host of the animated spin-off show, which first hit the air in 2019 and features the voices of Johnson, Doug Murray, Jordana Blake, Brad Adamson, Leo Orgil and Ava Augustin.

Nickelodeon last summer posted a LGBTQ flag on its page in commemoration of Pride Month.

The inclusive animated song resonated well with fans of the show, a number of whom took to Twitter to celebrate it.

‘Thank you Blue’s Clues!!!’ one user wrote, while another said, ‘I’m crying???? I grew up with Blue’s Clues and not only is pride there even ace, pan, non-binary and intersex flags are there?? 

‘This is so beautiful oh my goodness I’m starting my day with a happy breakdown.’

Author and activist Eric Rosswood said, ‘Another OMG! Blue’s Clues just released an alphabet song saying “P” is for PRIDE and look at all the flags they show! Thank you @nickjr for being inclusive! I’m watching this song on repeat with our 2-year-old right now!’
