Tommy focused the camera on the poster and wrote over the clip: ‘D**khead inception,’ appearing to joke about admiring himself.

While he is known for his playful banter, his upload on Monday failed to amuse some of his followers.

He shared a photo of himself and Carrie with a derogatory term in the caption.

Friends and colleagues for many years, Tommy’s post appeared to poke fun at the  pair’s bond.

‘Tweedledee and Tweedledumbc**t,’ he captioned the photo, leaving fans questioning whether he was disrespecting Carrie in the post.

Tommy quickly reassured fans he was referring to himself.

Carrie’s partner Chris Walker commented on the post: ‘She’s actually pretty bright.’

Two fans then added their two cents under the comment, writing ‘we know the dumbo’ and ‘but who’s the c**t?’.

Tommy appeared to confirm the latter was referring to himself, and not Carrie, writing in response: ‘I’m a double threat.’

While some of Tommy’s followers flocked to the comments section to join in on the banter, others expressed their disappointment in the TV host.

‘Not going to follow you anymore. Really disappointing that you think it’s ok,’ one user said of her intention to boycott the star.

Meanwhile, many were offended by the flippant use of the C-word in his post: ‘Since when has it been ok to use the c word. I bet your mother is real proud.’

‘That c word should never be used, it’s degrading,’ one user wrote, as another added: ‘why use that word? It’s already associated with a feeling of aggressive again against women. Really disappointed and sad.’
