Katharine McPhee plays a musician-turned-nanny opposite Eddie Cibrian in first look at Netflix’s new series Country Comfort

Katharine McPhee is returning to the small screen with the new Netflix show Country Comfort.

And people got their first look at the comedy series, which is set to premiere March 19th, in new photos out Wednesday.

McPhee plays a struggling musician named Bailey who has to find her maternal side when she is hired by cowboy Beau, played by Eddie Cibrian, to take care of his five kids.

With a full house, Bailey must learn to navigate the family dynamics while also taking on a motherly role.

Once the family reveals their musical talents, McPhee’s character realizes a way to get her singing career back on track.

In the first-look snaps of the series Katharine is seen folding laundry in the kitchen, which Eddie sips on his morning Joe.  

Other shots show the family making melodies together and coming together in a big group hug.

The show was created by Caryn Lucas, the writer and producer of quirky hits like the Fran Drescher favorite The Nanny and Sandra Bullock’s Miss Congeniality.

In addition to McPhee and Ciprian, Country Comfort stars Ricardo Hurtado, Jamie Martin Mann, Pyper Braun, Shiloh Verrico and Griffin McIntyre. 

McPhee’s new series comes as she prepares to welcome her first child with husband David Foster.

Katharine and David originally met during Katharine’s American Idol stint in 2006, with the composer going on to the produce the singer’s very first single.

Things between them turned romantic in 2017 after McPhee ended an eight year marriage to producer Nick Cokas in 2014. 

They went on to marry in 2019 during a lavish ceremony in London, England.

Foster has a long list of wives and five children in total, most recently being married to former Real Housewife Yolanda Hadid until 2017.

In a joint interview with Today in 2019, he summed up their relationship as ‘a natural coming together,’ with both working together and admiring each other’s talents throughout the years.

‘I’ve always just admired him and loved him, and he’s always been so great to people around him,’ she said.
