You can still dress to thrill… even if it’s just a flirty Zoom date this Valentine’s Day 

Whether you’re rustling up a ‘dine in for two’ deal or have a hot Zoom date, why not get dressed up this Valentine’s Day?

With so few opportunities to be properly glam at the moment, it’s the perfect excuse to switch up the comfy grey jersey for something a little racier in red.

If you’re in the mood to show off some skin, opt for a halter neck or off-the-shoulder style, such as the Valle & Vik halter top (second from left), which fastens with two silk ties that trail elegantly down your back.

For a more classic, covered-up look, a long-sleeved, V-neck midi dress is universally flattering and will serve your wardrobe well beyond Sunday. Not a dress person? A slim-cut blazer — like this one from Reiss (second from right) — worn done up, with just a bra or a slinky cami underneath, is sexy but sophisticated.

Of course, choosing an outfit is just part of the fun. Talking of which, creating a pretty ‘tablescape’ gives even a takeaway a sense of occasion. Go all out with napkin rings, flickering candles and little vases of flowers. Layer your best crockery and crack open the wine. Squint and you could be in a fancy restaurant after all.
