Ouch! A teenage schoolgirl takes a swipe at Karl Stefanovic during segment on the Today show
He may be one of Australia’s most well-paid television presenters.
But Karl Stefanovic still isn’t above getting sledged on national TV by a teenager.
During Tuesday’s episode of the Today show, a schoolgirl named Stella took a playful swipe at the larrikin Channel Nine star.

Karl and his fill-in co-host Leila McKinnon were interviewing a group of school children from Wauchope, in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales.
The kids were joined by Brad Fittler, the famous rugby league coach.
Brad asked Stella what she thought of Today anchor Allison Langdon, who hails from Wauchope and is taking a few weeks off work due to an injury.

‘What sort of inspiration has Ally been to you, coming from Wauchope?’ Brad asked.
Stella replied: ‘It’s amazing how far she’s gone – and all she’s got is ending up sitting next to Karl.’
Karl didn’t seem fazed by the comment, and laughed off Stella’s cheeky joke.
Allison, 41, was not there to enjoy the sledge as she is recuperating at home after injuring herself while hydrofoiling during a pre-recorded segment for the breakfast program on Queensland’s Gold Coast last week.
Nine veteran Leila McKinnon is filling in for Allison until she returns.

Hydrofoiling, also known as foil surfing, is a relatively new watersport.
The foil is attached to the bottom of a surfboard and features a wing-like design that helps lift the rider above the water.
In a statement to Daily Mail Australia last week, Channel Nine described the incident as ‘an unfortunate accident’.

‘After nearly an hour of incident-free filming of a segment about hydrofoiling, Ally fell awkwardly as she headed back to the marina at the end of the shoot,’ they said.
‘It was an unfortunate accident, and she was immediately taken to hospital. Both Karl and Ally had looked forward to the experience, and both had a wonderful time.
‘They had a comprehensive safety induction, and a thorough run-through of all aspects of hydrofoiling.
‘As with every shoot, safety requirements, briefings and subsequent after-care, are strictly followed and prioritised.’
