Nick Kyrgios’ brother Christos ‘demands $20,000’ for a radio interview about the tennis star – then makes an extraordinary claim after being called out by host Dave Hughes
Nick Kyrgios made headlines during his first game of the Australian Open, after bizarrely ordering his brother’s girlfriend ‘out of his box’ mid-match on live TV.
And after gaining a touch of fame amid the drama, Nick’s brother Christos Kyrigios agreed to be interviewed on Dave Hughes’ 2Day FM breakfast show for a hefty price.
The radio show claimed on Tuesday that they’d offered Christos $1000 to discuss the drama involving his girlfriend Alicia Gowans, but said he came back with a counter offer of a whopping $20,000.

‘First I offered $100, it was a no ball,’ the show’s producer Violet said on air, adding: ‘After I said $500, he told me “I don’t think we’re in the budget, Violet.”‘
After rejecting $1000, the show’s producer proceeded to ask Christos if he had a figure in mind.
‘He’s come back with $20,000, for a two minute chat!’ a shocked Violet exclaimed.
After being called out by Dave and his co-stars, Christos made the extraordinary claim to Daily Mail Australia that ‘they got it wrong’ and it was ‘actually $200,000, thanks’.
It appears the station may have politely declined the offer, as Christos didn’t appear on the show later that day.

Nick beat Portugal’s Frederico Ferreira in straight sets on John Cain Arena, his favourite court, at Melbourne Park on Monday night.
But it hadn’t taken long for the tennis bad boy to spark controversy when he made the strange request to the entourage in his player’s box early in the first set when he was down 2-0.
‘Tell your girlfriend out of my box,’ a fired up Nick ordered.
The box contained his father Giorgos, his sister Halimah, his brother Christos – and his brother’s girlfriend, world champion bodybuilder Alicia.
The tennis ace was seen having a heated exchange with one of his managers afterwards during the change of ends.

Ms Gowans is a three time World Beauty Fitness and Fashion world champion and sports nutritionist with 471,000 Instagram followers.
Nick later since clarified his comments and insists they were not directed at his brother or Ms Gowans.
‘I’m a nutcase when I’m on the court. It was just heat of the battle type stuff, you know,’ he said after the match.
‘Getting all those emotions out there again. You outlet at people you know have your back and you know that’s not going to change.’
