A TikTok user has been praised after sharing a video showing himself helping a woman who was being harassed by a ‘creepy’ man in a grocery store.

Brandon Robert, 22, from Gatlinburg, Tennessee, took to TikTok to the social media platform to show how he assisted the woman after realizing she was being made to feel uncomfortable by the stranger.

In the video, he approached the woman in the store and pretended that he was friends with her to give her a chance to exit her conversation with the man. 

In a voiceover, Brandon explained: ‘There’s this weird man making this girl uncomfortable in the store, I’m going to pretend I know her.’

Brandon approached the woman and enthusiastically said hello, and she immediately went along with his plan, asking him how he was doing.

He asked who the man was with her before saying that his aunt was in the supermarket, urging her to come and say hello.

The woman quickly asks if he means ‘aunt Claire’ before the duo walk away together, after Brandon has given her an excuse to quickly exit the situation.

As they walked across the store, the woman said: ‘Oh my God, thank you so much. He was asking if I wanted to go back to his place, he was so creepy.’

To which Brandon responded: ‘I was watching him from across the freaking room, he was touching you. Are you OK?’

She confirmed: ‘Yeah, I’m good. Thank you for helping me.’

The TikTok video has since racked up an impressive 11.7million likes and more than 112,000 comments from other users who praised Brandon for his kind actions.

One person commented: ‘Thank you for helping her out. It’s pretty sad how often girls have to deal with situations like this’

Another said: ‘Thank you man. We need more of this. More awareness.’

While a third wrote: ‘This is a legend right here you got my respect’

And a fourth quipped: ‘Aunt Claire we love her’ 

After the video went viral, Brandon said that he was pleased his example was sending a ‘good message’ to other men, urging others to ‘protect our ladies’.
