It’s A Sin’s Olly Alexander reunites with former co-star Tuppence Middleton as the longtime friends enjoys a stroll through London

His performance in Channel 4’s drama It’s A Sin has propelled him into the spotlight.

And it seems Olly Alexander still enjoys quiet moments, as he was seen enjoying a stroll in the rain with his longtime friend Tuppence Middleton on Wednesday.

The singer, 30, appeared to be in great spirits as he met his former co-star, 33, for a walk around London while carrying coffee – after greeting each other with a hug that did not seem to obey the rules of social distancing.

Olly, who has also made a name for himself as the lead singer for band Years & Years, wrapped up warm in a puffy black jacket that he paired with camouflage trousers.

While he wore a patterned face mask, Olly appeared to prefer wearing it pulled below his chin for much of his time with Tuppence.

The Downtown Abbey star looked effortlessly chic in a bright red pea coat and a black scarf, while she accessorised with a matching black beret.

Olly and Tuppence, who starred together in 2009 slasher film Tormented, were seen joking around with each other during their outing.

It’s A Sin follows a group of friends throughout the eighties as their life of hedonistic partying is infiltrated by the emergence of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Olly plays Ritchie Tozer, an 18-year-old hailing from an ignorant, unloving household on the Isle of Wight who throws himself headfirst into London life, soon befriending Jill and three others and renting their flat, lovingly dubbed The Pink Palace.

Russell T Davies, the writer and producer behind Queer As Folk, the 2005 revival of Doctor Who and Cucumber, loosely based It’s A Sin on his own experiences in the eighties.

Davies also spent hours in conversation with his childhood friend Jill Nalder, an actor, ally and activist who lived in London during the decade and is played by Lydia West in the drama.

The real-life Jill also appears, playing Lydia’s mother in episodes four and five.

The cast of young talent is supported by a string of veteran screen stars, including Keeley Hawes and Shaun Dooley as Ritchie’s parents, Stephen Fry as an MP lover of outrageous flatmate Roscoe (Omari Douglas) and Neil Patrick Harris as a mentor to another, the quietly observant Colin.
