Charlotte shared her daughter’s emotional birthday wish as she and her co-host Ben Shephard discussed Bottle Moments Project, a project where key workers had their post-lockdown wishes turned into a cartoon, depicted in a bottle.

Ben, 46, explained: ‘Here’s something for you, the aim was to raise spirits of frontline workers using cartoons. Since then, Bottle Moments Project has gone from strength to strength.’

Charlotte, 45, continued: ‘Cartoonist Rob Murray and psychologist Dr Kevin Dutton asked workers to tell them about something they couldn’t wait to do once restrictions were eased.’

Sharing his Bottle Moment, Ben said: ‘Well, my Bottle Moment was being reunited with my family down in Port Isaac in Cornwall where we all think of as home, that’s us on the breakwater looking back at the village, we all get together usually as a family.

‘That’s us sharing that hug we are desperately missing, although none of my family will claim to be the bald man at the front, my brother certainly won’t have that one!

‘But every member of my family now has this picture in a prominent place and we can’t wait to recreate it.’

In response, Charlotte revealed her dream post-lockdown and explained her daughter’s heartbreaking plea.

The host replied: ‘Well, mine is going on a beach holiday with Ella-Rose, sandcastles and all.

‘She has got a birthday coming up this weekend, and I asked her what she wanted for her birthday.

‘And she said, “Mummy, can I throw away my birthday and have a holiday instead?”,” she continued.

‘I was like, “Oh noo, you don’t have to throw away your birthday! You’ll have your birthday and then we will go on holiday as soon as we can.” That will be a really special one.’

Recently, Charlotte spoke of how tough self-isolation has been for her over the past 10 days, after she had a Covid scare and was forced to isolate from her daughter and partner.

Charlotte was told to isolate after after ITV’s own test and trace system informed her she had been in contact with someone who’d had the virus.

Discussing the time apart from her family, she said: ‘To not be able to hug my daughter Ella Rose for ten days, was so hard, it was absolutely heart-breaking.

‘To try to keep my distance, to double mask, I had convinced myself that I did have it.

‘I am delighted to be here and emerge from that isolation having had two negative test results to reassure myself it was okay.’

WFH: Charlotte has been keeping her Instagram followers updated on her self-isolation, creating a makeshift recording studio in her bedroom. She has still been able to present her weekend show on Classic FM, regardless
