Kate Langbroek admits she’s feeling ‘overwhelmed’ after returning home to Australia after a two-year stint in Italy

Last month, Kate Langbroek returned to Australia after two years living abroad in Bologna, Italy.

And on Wednesday, the 55-year-old radio personality revealed she’s finding it hard to adjust to life now that she’s back in Melbourne.

During an interview with The Kyle & Jackie O Show, host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson asked Kate how she was feeling now that she’s back.

Kate confessed she was feeling ‘a bit overwhelmed’ since moving back home to Australia.

Kate explained that she and her husband of 17 years, Peter Lewis, along with their four children, Lewis, Sunday, Artie and Jan, were all having a hard time adjusting.

‘We had such a quiet life over there and we were in lockdown for six months, we got used to it,’ she said.

‘Now we’ve come back and there’s so many people that we’re so happy to see, but I’m working and the kids had to start school,’ she added.

Reflecting on their time in Italy, Kate said she was proud of her family for adapting to their new surroundings so quickly.

‘It was beyond what I imagine, I’d only been to Italy twice before, and none of us speak Italian, so it could have been an absolute disaster, but it was the greatest thing we’ve ever done in our lives,’ she added.

Last month, the radio host agreed to replace Rebecca Judd on KIIS FM’s 3pm Pick-Up, alongside Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond and Yumi Stynes.

Speaking about returning home, Kate said she and her family are finding plenty of things that need fixing around their house after being away for two years.

She said the time away had also given her ‘really good clarity of people’, after being asked if it had prompted her to ‘cull’ anyone from her life.
