The Project criticises disgraced celebrity chef Pete Evans after he invited controversial MP Craig Kelly onto his podcast to discuss baseless conspiracy theories

The Project’s panelists had a few choice words for disgraced chef Pete Evans during Tuesday’s episode.

Recapping the day’s news, they explained that The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners had ‘accused Liberal MP Craig Kelly of spreading misinformation about COVID-19’ after his recent appearance on Pete’s podcast.

According to the report, the 57-year-old politician couldn’t see a problem with his appearance on the renowned anti-vaxxer and conspiracy theorist’s podcast.

‘To be honest with you, I’m a big fan of Pete’s podcast, My Conspiracy Rules,’ joked panelist Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald. 

The 44-year-old radio host added: ‘I rang in and wanted to biocharge it for free. It’s awesome.’ 

Fellow panelist Tommy Little joked that Kelly may have just been looking for some ‘dietary advice’ from the 48-year-old former My Kitchen Rules judge.

‘Do you think maybe Craig Kelly has gone paleo? Do you think this is what it was about? He just wanted some dietary advice,’ asked the 35-year-old comedian. 

Meanwhile, Carrie Bickmore claimed the two men appeared to have struck up an unlikely close friendship.

‘Didn’t you hear how Pete Evans described Kelly? A beautiful and beyond courageous man. There is more to this story!’ added the 40-year-old TV presenter.

In a post on Instagram on Tuesday, Pete praised Kelly and continued to peddle his unfounded claim that the coronavirus pandemic is a hoax.

‘Thank you Craig for sharing your perspective and peer reviewed and up to date medical information from the world’s leading doctors and researchers about this ongoing scam and human experiment,’ he began.

‘What you are presenting has the ability to stop this nonsense in its tracks, which is why they see you as a major threat to the agenda which includes $$$, manipulation and control.’
