The Project’s Steve Price has been slammed for calling Holey Moley ‘truly awful’ and criticising Australian golf legend Greg Norman for taking part in the new series.

On Monday, the 66-year-old radio host criticised the Channel Seven show on Twitter following its premiere.

He wrote: ‘Sad that Greg Norman one of the greatest golfers of all time and a brilliant businessman would trash his name on 7’s Holey Moley putt putt show it’s truly awful.’

Fans flocked to social media and slammed Steve for criticising the new series, which is proving to be a ratings hit.

‘What? Greg Norman’s never come across better. Very likeable on Holey Moley. The show is so much better than it had any right to be,’ one person wrote.

Another said: ‘I’m quite enjoying the show so far and from what I read Norman quite enjoyed showing his sense of humour.’

‘I’m not sure you are the target audience Pricey. My 13-year-old son however is loving it,’ one person commented.

The Channel Seven reality show was the most-watched entertainment program, with 983,000 people viewers tuning in across the country, TV Blackbox reports.

The program, which is hosted by Sonia Kruger, features Matt Shirvington and Rob Riggle as commentators and Greg Norman as the resident golf pro.
