Responding to the announcement, Nicole, 46, whose marriage to the former Oasis star ended in 2014, wrote: Oh Liam…I’m in bits..our beautiful little Ruby Tuesday….’

Shortly afterwards, she took to her Instagram account to share an image of Ruby as she told her 151,000 followers: ‘I can’t even…my beautiful baby girl Ruby Tuesday has passed away. I feel physically sick and incredibly heart broken. I can’t believe it.’

She received an outpouring of support from a host of celebrity friends, including Holly Willoughby, Tamzin Outhwaite, Sadie Frost, and All Saints bandmates Shaznay Lewis and Melanie Blatt.

Ruby was one of two sausage dogs Liam and Nicole brought into their home during their 14-year relationship, with the other being called Brigitte Bardot.

Liam even expressed his commitment to sausage dogs while performing onstage in Germany in 2011, when he ranted: ‘Extinction of sausage dogs? I will prevent that!

‘When I’m back in England I am gonna buy 900 of them. I am gonna prevent them from downfall.’

Noel recently revealed that Oasis will be reuniting to record a new album – but without his brother Liam.

The band split back in 2009 after the siblings had a very public fall out, but they seemingly ended their quarrel this month when Liam extended an olive branch on Twitter claiming ‘this is our year.’

Despite hopes the pair had put their feud behind them, Noel, 53, is pressing ahead without his sibling, and will re-record 14 tracks that didn’t make it onto the band’s previous albums.

Speaking about his connection to the songs, Noel told The Sun: ‘I’ve listed the proper songs and there were 14. They just fell by the wayside of various projects from down the years.

‘I’m going to record them. Some are quite old school. I was looking at the track listing and thinking, “Actually, fing hell, no I’d approach that song differently”.  It’s been very interesting.’

MailOnline has contacted Liam Gallagher’s representatives for comment.

Oasis have sold 75 million albums worldwide, having released hit albums including Definitely Maybe and What’s The Story Morning Glory? Their final studio album, Dig Out Your Soul, was released in 2008.

However, Liam and Noel have been trading insults ever since Oasis split at their final concert in Paris in 2009 after a backstage bust-up.

The duo quickly went their separate ways when the band disbanded and their infamous feud has been running ever since.

Noel went on to become the frontman of his own band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, while formed Beady Eye, before going on to pursue a solo career.

Noel’s reported plans to release their old tracks comes just weeks after Liam ended his feud with his sibling and sparked rumours of a reunion.

The singer took to Twitter to reconcile with his estranged brother and former Oasis bandmate and announced: ‘this is our year’.

Taking to Twitter just after midnight as the UK went into the New Year, Liam tweeted: ‘HNY Noel love you long time 2021 is our year c’mon you know LG x’.

Noel has yet to respond, and Liam didn’t tag his brother’s Twitter handle into his reconciliation tweet.

After Liam extended an olive branch to his brother, fans went into meltdown over the prospect of Oasis getting back together.

One follower responded with: ‘happy new year LG, oasis reunion this year mate x?’ while another enthused: ‘An Oasis reunion could be the best thing happening in 2021.’

A third fan tweeted: ‘If you think I’m gonna grab onto this & hope that 2021 is the year of the reunion…..you’re dam right I am…..OASIS OASIS OASIS OASIS.’

Taking things to a whole other level, another person insisted: ‘In 1555 Nostradamus wrote in his book ‘les Prophéties’ : 2021 will be the year of Oasis reunion.’

At the same time, betting company Ladbrokes have given an Oasis reunion in 2021 odds of 10/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told The Sun: ‘Little By Little the odds of Oasis getting back together are shortening so fans may well get their wish this year.’
