Kevin Costner’s National Parks drama about crime-solving NPS agents is ordered to pilot by ABC
His Paramount Network series Yellowstone is a huge hit.
And now Kevin Costner has parlayed America’s National Parks into another series, this time for ABC.
The network has ordered a pilot for the drama co-written by Costner along with Aaron Helbing (The Flash) and Jon Baird, THR.com reported Monday.

The show is titled National Parks and centers on a team of elite NPS agents who are tasked with solving crimes that occur within the boundaries of federally-owned open spaces.
Costner is also set to executive produce the drama while Helbing will serve as showrunner.
Meanwhile, Yellowstone is now in its fourth season with Costner starring as John Dutton, the patriarch of a powerful Montana ranching family.
Filming on the fourth season took place in Montana last year under strict COVID-19 protocols.

The Oscar-winning actor told the LA Times last year that he never intended to remain on the Western series when he signed on.
‘It was going to be 10 episodes, it was going to finish there,’ he explained.
But, he added, the quality of the material and the fact the show ‘has been wonderfully received’ has kept him invested in the story.
