AFC Wimbledon are considering hiring Emma Hayes as their new boss in a move which would make her the first senior female manager ever in the men’s game, according to the Express.
The Chelsea women’s boss boasts an incredible 33-match unbeaten record in the Women’s Super League following a 4-0 victory over local rivals Tottenham last weekend.
The 44-year-old has had an illustrious career since taking over at Chelsea back in 2012 with two League and Women’s FA Cup doubles, as well as winning the title and the League Cup last season.

Hayes, who has also been linked with the women’s England job before, could make the move into the men’s game after being shortlisted to replace the sacked Glyn Hodges, who left Wimbledon by mutual consent after a 2-0 defeat by MK Dons.
AFC Wimbledon currently sit 21st in League One with just one win from their last 13 matches.
Hayes will have some stiff competition if she decides to put her hat in the ring for the Dons job, with former club players and England football legends also candidates for the position.
Ian Holloway, who left Grimsby in December, ex-England star Sol Campbell, Morecambe manager Derek Adams, former Fleetwood boss Joey Barton, and National League Boreham Wood’s Luke Garrard have all been linked with the vacant role.

Neil Harris, who left struggling Championship side Cardiff last month is also in the running for the position.
Hayes would make history if she was appointed as manager of AFC Wimbledon as the first woman to manage in Britain at senior level in the men’s game.
Some have tested the waters before with Shelley Kerr managing Stirling University in Scotland’s Lowland League before going on to coach the Scotland women’s national team.
While former England captain Mary Phillip is in charge at Peckham Town, in the Kent County League Premier Division, the 11th tier of English football.
Hayes was also reportedly a candidate to replace Frank Lampard at Chelsea following his shock sacking last week before Thomas Tuchel was appointed.
