Dancing On Ice: Phillip Schofield fumes at Jason Donovan for ditching their plans to wear same coat

Phillip Schofield was left blindsided by contestant Jason Donovan after he ditched their plans to wear Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat costumes for Dancing On Ice’s Musicals Week on Sunday.

The presenter, 58, was the picture of confidence as he joined co-star Holly Willoughby in his vibrant ensemble, before jokingly fuming at the actor, 52, for deciding to skate in a completely different outfit at the last-minute.

‘I feel like a right fool now!’, the irritated host admitted as he switched out of his kooky look and into a smart suit.

As singer Jason – who starred as Joseph in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s stage show back in 1991 – dressed as Priscilla from The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, an annoyed Phillip screamed: ‘Jason… what is this, what are you doing?’

The musician addressed his choice as he replied: ‘Phil, forget the coat mate I thought you were gonna turn up in a loincloth.’

This Morning star Phillip quipped he ‘had one on underneath’, before adding: ‘I feel like a right fool night!’

After walking off the stage, the media personality made a comeback in a typically suave outfit.

This week, the skating stars were tasked with completing the judges challenge, which saw them having to form a synchronised step sequence as well as three isolations on one foot.

Dancing On Ice was thrown into chaos in recent days after three celebrities were forced to pull out of this weekend’s live show.

Although two of the three celebrities are likely to return after a week off the ice, show bosses are said to be ‘preparing for every possible outcome.’

It’s thought that two of the three absentee stars will return: Rufus Hound, 41, is self-isolating after coming into contact with coronavirus, while Billie Faiers, 31, is taking the week off to grieve the loss of her grandmother Wendy.

Denise Van Outen, 46, however, who was skating with pro Matt Evers, 44, has permanently pulled out of the show after dislocating her shoulder.

The TOWIE narrator has been replaced by gymnast Amy Tinkler, 21, who skated with pro Joe Johnson for the first time.

It’s also been claimed that producers are ready to call on stand-in Matt Richardson, 29, if anyone else should permanently drop out.

A source told The Sun: ‘The trio of absences have caused major headaches. Bosses have to fill two hours in prime time.

‘They thought the biggest hurdle would be getting the programme on air, but they couldn’t have foreseen coronavirus causing a contestant to drop out at the same time that two other stars left due to an injury and a bereavement.

‘With such a run of bad luck, they’re preparing for every possible outcome. They’re taking nothing for granted.’
