Strictly’s Jamie Laing reveals the shock moment he almost pooed himself before his Hercules routine

He impressed Strictly Come Dancing viewers with his determination and enthusiasm on the dance floor, making it all the way to the grand final.

However, Jamie Laing’s Strictly dreams were almost left in tatters as he revealed he almost pooed himself ahead of his Hercules routine in the final.

Speaking on his Private Parts podcast on Friday, the reality star, 32, confessed that he came ever so close to soiling himself ahead of his performance, even telling his professional dance partner Karen Hauer: ‘I don’t think I can possibly do this.’

Oh dear! Jamie Laing’s Strictly dreams were almost left in tatters as he revealed he almost pooed himself ahead of his Hercules routine in the final

Jamie was joined by co-host and former Made in Chelsea co-star Frances Boulle and their special guest Max George, who also discussed his Strictly experience.

Max, who starred on the BBC show alongside Jamie last year, kicked off the toilet talk first and told how he was so nervous before heading on stage, that he too almost ‘s**t his pants’.

The former The Wanted singer, 32, explained: ‘I was nervous and I almost s**t my pants. I felt my a**e twitching and I literally said to Dianne [Buswell, his professional partner] as we were walking on, “I need the toilet”. And she was like “you can’t now”.

‘And I was like no seriously, “I need the toilet”. And as I walked on, I was proper clenching my bum cheeks.

Frances, 32, then quipped: ‘It’s amazing what you can do while needing a s**t’.

His pal Jamie then decided to share his own unfortunate story and told how things nearly went down south ahead of his big moment.

He said: ‘I had this, when I was in the final. I promise you this is no word of lie, I was about to do the Hercules routine in the final of Strictly Come Dancing 2020 and I said to Karen [Hauer] my partner, “I need the bathroom, I need to go and take a s**t, I need it so bad”.

‘She says “you can’t” and I said “I don’t think I can possibly do this”. ‘

He continued: ‘The only way I managed to reason it in my head is I thought, I’m wearing Lycra, it’s brown, I’m tan skinned. If it does come out, it’s probably going to lodge inside the Lycra.

‘So that’s what I thought in my head, so it made me calm down a little bit and not be so sketchy about anything and that’s how intense it was.’

Speaking of his relief following his performance, he said: ‘Afterwards I let go and oh my God, it was dreamy.’

Despite his best efforts in the final, the show was eventually win by Bill Bailey and his partner Oti Mabuse.

Meanwhile, Max spoke of his fears and worries of taking part in the competition, telling the boys that his nerves kicked in when the group first met their chorographers at the start of the series.

Max admitted he was so nervous that he ‘struggled with walking’, at one point telling himself “what am I doing here?”

He added that it didn’t help that his former band mate Jay McGuinness formerly won the show.

Elsewhere on the podcast, Max George revealed he suffered from debilitating depression after his band The Wanted went on an indefinite hiatus back in 2014.

The singer admitted he had brain scans in hospital because he became so unwell- but had no clue his physical symptoms were about by mental illness.

Opening up to Jamie and Francis, Max said: ‘I had a three month period in my life where I couldn’t leave my apartment without being sick.

‘My head was spinning. I couldn’t walk. So I ended up in hospital having scans on my brain and it was all down to being depressed.’
