Woman, 27, who fell in love with her wedding DJ, 51, reveal they got married

A woman who fell in love with her wedding DJ has revealed how they tied the knot in an ‘intimate’ ceremony five years after being introduced.

Megan Stone, 27, originally from Baltimore, Maryland, first met Mark Stone, 51, in November 2015 and hired him to entertain guests at her wedding to her first husband the following year.

But a year into her marriage Megan began to feel ‘neglected’ by her husband and opened up to Mark, a business analyst and DJ, about her marital issues.

She and Mark, who was also married at the time, became close friends and moved to be together once their respective divorces were finalized, realizing they had fallen in love.

Despite Megan’s initial reservations about their 24-year age gap, the couple have gone from strength to strength and recently tied the knot in a private ceremony in North Carolina.

Speaking about the 24-year age gap between herself and Mark, Megan said people sometimes mistake them for father and daughter but said Mark looks 'young' for his age (both pictured)

Megan said: ‘Married life has been good, doesn’t feel too much different honestly to us. We are in love and have been for a long while but it’s nice to be more “official” in a sense, and I love having Mark’s last name.’

Speaking about the 24-year age gap between herself and her new husband, Megan admitted that people sometimes mistake them for father and daughter.

But she added that most people are often ‘shocked’ at how large the age gap is between them, explaining that Mark looks ‘young’ for his age.

‘Yes that [being mistaken for father and daughter] happens here and there but not too terribly often,’ she said.

‘Mark looks young for his age and I have an older soul for my age. Mostly people are shocked that the gap is so large given Mark looks great for 51. And I am 27.’

Megan was first introduced to Mark by her sister in 2015. Her sister later booked mark to DJ at Megan’s first wedding in July 2016.

Speaking about how their loved ones reacted to their nuptials, Megan said they were all very 'happy' for them but were 'sad' that they were moving 'further away from home'

However, a year into her marriage, Megan was unhappy and felt neglected in her relationship and while she was at home bumped into Mark again – where she found herself opening up to him about her marriage.

They became close friends and started to chat every day and Mark confided that he he had split from his wife of 27 years.

When Megan filed for divorce, Mark supported her and by August 2018, with both of their divorces finalized, they moved to North Carolina to be together – as they’d fallen in love with each other.

At first Megan had her doubts because of their age gap, but the more time the pair spent together, her doubts disappeared.

Both Mark’s and Megan’s families were accepting of their relationship and were pleased that they had found happiness together.

Speaking about their relationship in 2019, Megan said: ‘At first I had the, “Oh god are you falling for him?” thought, and after that it was, “Can this even work?” and then, “Will people think I’m some gold digger?”

‘Being together all negative thoughts went away. I’m an older soul and he’s a young soul so it’s almost like we meet in the middle and it’s perfect.’

The couple tied the knot in October in a ‘super personal and intimate’ wedding ceremony in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The couple have relocated to Utah, where Mark was spending time with his parents.

‘We moved to Utah because Mark was already out here visiting and helping his parents out with Covid and he loved it so much,’ Megan explained.

‘He loved the people, the church and seeing mountain views everywhere he went and the fact that there were so many hikes to do. So I started looking for a nanny job out there on a whim and got one.

‘So we decided to up and leave North Carolina for good and move out to beautiful Utah.’

The couple previously revealed in 2019 that Mark would need a vasectomy reversal to have children, adding that they had hoped having a child would ‘still be an option’.
