‘I don’t even fit in coats anymore’: Alan Carr reveals he gained 3st in lockdown by eating too much banana bread

Alan Carr has revealed he let himself go during lockdown and gained three stone by eating too much banana bread.

The comedian, 44, has admitted to gaining so much weight, he is getting too fat to even fit into his coats.

Speaking to Heat Magazine about life during lockdown, Alan said: ‘The first time I was like “On my god I can just stay home and eat, eat, eat”.

‘I made all the banana bread, I was getting really fat and was like “Ha ha no one can see me”. I got into Netflix, read all my books, had my jigsaw puzzles.

‘Then lockdown two, I suddenly became a key worker because I leave the house for work and I was like, “S**t! I need to lose two stone overnight”.’

The television presenter says he was forced to start a health kick after it got to the point where he was having trouble fitting into his anorak.

‘For lockdown three, I’m losing weight and I’m not going to eat banana bread and I’m going to do one bit of walking a day,’ he said.

‘I was shocked you could do one bit of exercise. I was like “Damn!” I mean, it’s getting to the point I don’t even fit in coats anymore – my anorak looks like a crop top.’

He recently told The Mirror: ‘I did put on a lot of lockdown weight. People will think, ‘What the hell has he eaten because he has ballooned!’

‘I have been eating any old s**t. I think I have put on about three stone. You see skinny people on Instagram and they only have a slice of banana bread but I was eating the whole lot.’

Alan said he knew something was amiss when he put on his 36-inch waist jeans recently and couldn’t fit them over his stomach.

He has vowed to rectify this, however, by making a pact with pal Judge Rinder.

‘I rang Rob up last year and said, “I am fat!” He said, “I am fat!” So we sent each other pictures and both agreed we were fat. We decided whoever had lost the least amount of weight by November 2nd would pay for dinner.
