The 10-hour diet: Waldorf salad and smoked mackerel

Colourful, nutritious, packed to the brim with flavour… say hello to your new daily standby 

SERVES 2

1 apple, cored and cut into small cubes

2 tbsp walnut pieces

2 sticks of celery, topped and tailed, cut into pieces about 1cm thick

2 tbsp plain live yogurt

2 tbsp mayonnaise

1 tbsp horseradish sauce

a sprinkling of sea salt

pinch of ground pepper

2 fillets of smoked mackerel (find them in the fridge section of supermarkets)

  • Combine the apple, walnuts and celery in a bowl.
  • In a cup, mix the yogurt, mayonnaise, horseradish sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Pour the yogurt mix on top of the apple mix and stir through.
  • Scatter a few pieces of smoked mackerel on top and enjoy.
