Newsreader sparks a fierce debate online over colour of her ‘white’ dress

The great dress debate is back! Newsreader sparks a lively discussion online as fans argue whether her optical-illusion frock is white or blue

A TV presenter has sparked a lively debate on social media after posting a photo of herself wearing what she claims is a ‘white’ dress.

Channel Seven newsreader Kendall Gilding looked sensational in the figure-hugging frock by Ted Baker – but her fans were a little confused by her description of the dress as the ‘freshest of white’.

Many of her followers insisted it was actually light blue, raising the possibility that the outfit has an optical illusion effect, like the black and blue Roman Originals dress that went viral in 2015.

‘Definitely blue but beautiful,’ one fan commented. Another agreed: ‘It looks blue.’

‘My fav! Looking beautiful in blue babe,’ a third follower wrote, while a fourth added: ‘It could be white in the blue background…’

Kendall responded to one fan, explaining: ‘You’re not the first person to say this! I think it must be the low light that we took it in!’

The presenter then shared another photograph of herself sitting at the Seven News desk to confirm the dress was actually white.

‘For everyone debating whether my dress was white or blue, here’s a photo in the news studio!’ she wrote.

‘It’s still blue to me,’ one person commented, adding a laughing emoji.

‘I was wrong. I said blue!’ another wrote.

One fan suggested: ‘Maybe the previous photo was just a reflection off the wall. The wall was blue, right? Either way, a stunning look.’
