Netflix’s Dream Home Makeover stars Syd and Shea McGee announce they’re expecting their third child

Syd and Shea McGee, the stars of Netflix’s Dream Home Makeover, are expecting baby number three.

The partners in life and business announced their happy news via People on Wednesday, telling the outlet: ‘We’re so excited. We are feeling all of the feelings.’

Shea and Syd – who are already parents to Wren, seven, and Ivy, five – said they’re excited to see how the girls interact with their new sibling, who mom and dad called their ‘grand finale baby.’

‘There’s a five-year gap between our oldest two and this one,’ Shea, 35, said. ‘Last time I had a baby, I had another baby to take care of too. It was crazy.’

But now that the girls are a bit older, the interior designer is looking forward to watching the kids grow up together.

‘Now I’m feeling like our girls are really going to take on the responsibility of being helpers. They’re really, really excited.’

‘Our youngest kisses Shea’s belly every morning and says, ‘Hi baby,” Syd added.

Syd and Shea, who have been married for 12-years, will welcome baby number three around mid-June. 

Though the couple are thrilled about their new addition, they admitted the news was a bit unexpected. 

‘We were coming home from a trip [in mid-November] and I wasn’t feeling well at all and I told Syd, “I just have this feeling. I don’t know why, but I feel like I might be pregnant,”‘ Shea said.

Syd remembers being a bit blindsided, saying: ‘You said, “My body’s doing all the weird things it does when I’m pregnant,” and I was like, “What?”‘

Eager to confirm Shea’s suspicions, they got a pregnancy test ASAP.

‘I made him stop at a convenience store on the way home from the airport to pick up a pregnancy test and then I found out that day,’ Shea recalled.

Still, the family waited for the perfect time to tell the girls, sharing the happy sibling news as a Christmas surprise. 

‘We waited to tell them on Christmas,’ Shea shared. ‘We wrapped up a little gift and it had a little book inside, and some baby toys, and they opened it, and they were like, “What is this?” And I’m like, “We’re having a baby.” They didn’t even say anything, their jaws just dropped.’

But after the news sunk in Shea said they ‘started screaming’ with glee.

‘It was really a fun Christmas morning,’ she smiled.
