Colin Fassnidge says the media is ‘hounding’ Pete Evans and that the controversial chef’s daughters are ‘collateral damage’ because of it

Colin Fassnidge has shared his thoughts on the role that the media has played in the downfall of his former My Kitchen Rules co-star Pete Evans.

In a deleted scene from I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, the Irish chef said that Pete’s two daughters have become ‘collateral damage’ due to the relentless media scrutiny that their famous father is under.

‘It’s not nice to get that much media, non-stop every day,’ he told campmate Grant Denyer in the scene, which was published by news.com.au.

‘For your kids as well, they’re the collateral damage,’ he continued.

Grant tried to push back against Colin, insisting that Pete ‘courts’ the media attention himself.

Speaking in a private confessional later, Colin admitted that Pete had ‘overstepped the boundary’ by sharing a neo-Nazi cartoon on Instagram.

‘There’s something you just don’t do,’ he said firmly.

‘He’s gotten in a lot of trouble lately for his views,’ he continued.

‘I do not agree with any of the views. (But) the media is absolutely hounding him, whether that’s his own making, well, you know.’

Prior to that scandal, Pete copped a major fine when he promoted the $15,000 BioCharger lamp as a potential COVID-19 cure.

As well as his bigger scandals, Pete had previously been criticised for speaking against sunscreen, water fluoridation and advocating a Paleo diet.
