Tom Daley shows off his toned physique as he practices diving board flips

He’s known for his impressive diving skills, which earned him two bronze medals at the Olympic Games in 2012 and 2016.

And Tom Daley was sure to wow his followers as he practised doing flips and spins with ease alongside his diving partner Matty Lee in London on Wednesday.

The Olympic diver, 26, showed off his toned physique as he and his fellow athlete, 22, went through the motions of their practice session on mats to the tune of Kylie Minogue’s Spinning Around.

Tom flaunted his washboard abs and muscular figure by doing the flips in just a pair of black shorts. 

He and Matt wore masks as they worked together, making sure to keep safe amid the coronvairus pandemic while also keeping fit for future diving championships.

As well as doing synchronised jumps together, Tom also did a few solo flips which saw him spin high in the air multiple times.

Tom could be seen doing a series of complicated gymnastic ‘press to handstand’ manoeuvres, which is when a handstand is started from a standing or sitting position.

He showcased his flexibility and physical strength as he effortlessly swung his legs and body into the air to perfect the poses, including the pike press, tuck press, split press and straddle press.

The TV personality also flaunted his washboard abs and toned physique as he practised the complex exercises in a pair of figure-hugging black pants.

Alongside the impressive video, he penned: ‘TUCK, PIKE, STRADDLE OR SPLIT?! WHICH PRESS IS BEST?!

Tom married Dustin Lance Black, 46, back in 2017 after two years of dating, and they are parents to son Robbie, two, born via a surrogate.

He has discussed ‘coming out’ in a new book by Andrew Gelwicks, The Queer Advantage: Conversations with LGBTQ+ Leaders on the Power of Identity. 

The athlete revealed his sexuality in a YouTube video in 2013, calling it ‘one of the scariest things to have to do’, in an extract from the book, shared by Glamour.

When asked if he feels as though top heterosexual athletes treat him as an equal, Tom said he hadn’t felt any differential treatment, but felt like one of the lucky ones.

But he admitted that ‘growing up as a queer person’ had been ‘challenging’.

He said: ‘You are always told that you are different and you are less than. That automatically puts you on the back foot and you have to work even harder to prove yourself. 

‘Those challenges and obstacles are what have shaped me as an athlete.’

Tom added that when you ‘have to work harder’ when you are seen as an ‘outsider’.
