Love Island’s Amber Gill and Amy Hart furiously defend Yewande Biala

Love Island stars Amber Gill and Amy Hart have defended their friend Yewande Biala amid shock ‘bullying’ claims from Lucie Donlan. 

The duo, who appeared alongside Yewande and Lucie in 2019’s fifth season, reacted with fury after it was revealed that the surfer, 22, had accused the pharmacist, 25, of bullying her – claims Yewande staunchly denied on Monday evening. 

Following her denials, Amber and Amy backed her when it was revealed that Lucie ‘refused to pronounce Yewande’s name correctly’, as Amber branded the Cornwall-born star a ‘b***h’ and a ‘liar’ for her allegations. 

On Monday, Yewande hit back at Lucie’s claims that she ‘bullied’ her, after Lucie made the accusations against her reality show co-star in a series of old Instagram comments, which were unearthed on Reddit earlier in the day. 

The blonde beauty, 22, declared she’s ‘not bothered’ about the opinion of the Irish star after she allegedly branded her ‘boring’.  A fan quizzed Lucie in the throwback and said: ‘How do you feel about Yewande saying you’re a horrible person?’

‘She’s always bullied me,’ she responded. ‘I’m not bothered about her opinion… makes her look bad. Not sure where she said that though!’

As the fan added: ‘Living in their head rent free, keep winning’ alongside a winking face, Lucie responded with heart emojis.  

Yewande responded with accusations of her own, saying that Lucie wouldn’t even use her name in the villa as it was ‘too hard to pronounce’.

Taking to Twitter, Yewande wrote: ‘You refused to call me by my name because it was too “hard to pronounce” now you wanna say I bullied you !! Bullied’.

Amber, who won the series of the show, jumped to her pal’s defense. 

She replied: ‘Na when she said can I call you “Y” I said lol no you can’t can I just call you “her” you were peaceful in that exchange It was me with the vim.’   

She then shared a GIF on Twitter about her reaction and defensively wrote to the user: ‘Call me problematic. But if I see something false or that I don’t like I’m speaking regardless and if it’s about my friend I’m yelling idc.’

She ‘liked’ a tweet reading: ‘Very interesting to see how Lucie still positioned Yewande as the bully even when Amber was the one directly challenging her, she clearly saw the former as the easier target to villainess. This is misogynoir at work.’

Underneath a post of UKGossipTV’s Instagram, which detailed the back and forth between the parties, Amber wrote: ‘Cut me a f**king break man… 

‘You know that b***h lying, Yewande is one of the quietist [motherf**kers] I ever met AND it’s almost two years later and we are not over it it man it’s boring’. 

Amy then joined in her defense of their friend, as she too took to Twitter to write: ‘I bit my tongue today, tomorrow may be different. My final thought of the evening, this beautiful,respectful QUEEN has sat on this for almost two years…

‘We haven’t spoken about it publicly because it was Yewande’s story to tell. I remember dates, times, locations of every conversation in that villa.There’s so much you don’t see x

A critic then shared a snap of a straight-faced Amy and wrote: ‘Okay but this was your face every time Lucy was slightly happy. Obvs you jealous and mad about some stupid food fight challenge. Grow up it’s 2021, move on with your life. X’

Hitting back with reference to the lengthy filming and cutting process of the show, she responded: ‘Or is that just my face at all times when I’m sitting around a fire pit on a 2 hour shoot but it makes a good reaction shot’
