Video captures exact moment two dopey dogs having a playfight hear the telltale sound of a packet of crisps being opened

This is the hilarious moment two dopey dogs suddenly stopped playfighting when they heard the rustling of a packet of crisps being opened in another room.
The basset hounds, Pudding and Gumbo, immediately stopped fighting over a sock at the sound of the packet at their home in Margate, Kent.
After a short pause to listen out, the dogs abandoned the sock and both headed downstairs to see if they could successfully beg for a share of the snacks.
The ten-second clip became a massive hit online with the caption: ‘Please enjoy the exact moment this pair of a***holes heard a packet of crisps being opened.’

Footage shot on a mobile phone started with the dogs growling as they held onto each end of a sock with their teeth.
Their lengthy ears comically flapped in the air as the pair shook their heads to try to dislodge the sock from the other’s mouth.
Suddenly there’s a noise and both dogs immediately stop. Within a second they have abandoned the fight to run after the crisps.
Twitter users loved the dogs and were quick to fill the comments section with their admiration. One said: ‘I need more stuff like this in my life. They are adorable.’

Others described their own hounds’ selective hearing. One said: ‘My basset *can’t* hear me when I’m calling him from 6ft away. Can however hear me putting butter on toast from the 2nd floor. They are equal parts infuriating and wonderful.’
Another added: ‘Mine harasses me relentlessly whenever I’m eating toast. And by harasses me relentlessly I mean he sits in front of me and looks at me with those eyes which I still fall for after.10 years of having him.’
Another penned: ‘My staffy girl *can’t* hear me calling her in from the garden 6ft away but can hear the cheddar cheese being opened in the Kitchen when she’s upstairs snoozing on my bed…’
