Mollie King’s fiancé Stuart Broad puts his £2 million home on the market

Cricketer Stuart Broad has put his five-bedroom home on the market just weeks after he popped the question to former Saturdays singer Mollie King, MailOnline can reveal.

The stunning property, believed to be purchased in 2014, served as the couple’s first home together during last year’s spring lockdown, but it appears the sportsman, 34, is seeking for a fresh start as he has listed the Nottinghamshire mansion for £2.15 million.

Stuart and presenter Mollie, 33, announced their engagement on New Year’s Day following a nearly eight-year, on-off relationship, and the bowler has since jetted off for England’s winter test series in Sri Lanka and India.

Set on four levels, with an ultra-cool air-conditioned cinema room in its basement, the property, set behind gates in a residential area of the city, comes with four reception rooms, five double bedrooms and three bathrooms.

According to the sale details, the property ‘oozes quality from start to finish’ with designer wall-paper and bathroom fittings.

Photographs show vast amounts of living space with the downstairs including an oak-floored sitting room and three sets of French patio doors.

The tiled kitchen includes two electric ovens, an integrated microwave and a built-in wine fridge, while there is also a dining room and office.

Two of the three bedrooms on the first floor have their own balconies and the master bedroom has its own dressing area where Mollie dished out hair and make-up tips to her online followers during lockdown.

The second floor adds a further two large bedrooms and a shower room and it is all set in half an acre of land. Outside there is a double garage and room to park multiple cars as well as a seating area around an outdoor kitchen complete with a waterproof speaker system.

During the first lockdown, Stuart, England’s second highest wicket taker of all time, bought a practice net online so he could continue bowling during the halt to professional sport.

In one video, posted by Mollie, who is now a Radio One presenter having sold 8 million records with The Saturdays, is seen batting against her six foot six inch boyfriend in the back garden.

He told an interviewer at the time: ‘Being restricted to my home in Nottingham for the longest stretch I can remember in my career has meant I have gone from international cricket to playing against my girlfriend Mollie, who has become quite good at batting.

‘She has been very enthusiastic. Some might say a bit too enthusiastic on occasion — like when she bowled the ball over the net and cleared the hedge, too. Next door didn’t give it back, either!’

The sale of the house may prove an emotional wrench for the media personality, who has spent almost his entire career with Nottinghamshire, the county his father Chris played for during the 1980s.

Last January, the former ODI captain signed a two-year extension to his contract and said that he could not imagine himself playing for any other county.

It is only a short cycle ride from his place of work, Trent Bridge, where he delivered the ‘spell of the decade’ in 2015, taking 8 Australian wickets for 15 runs on the first morning of the 2015 test match.

The couple have been an on-off item since 2012 but have been dating steadily since the start of 2019. In agreeing to marry him, Mollie becomes the third member of The Saturdays to marry an international sports star.

Fellow band member Frankie Bridge married England footballer Wayne Bridge in 2014 and Una Healy tied the knot in 2012 to England Rugby Union international Ben Foden, who she split from in 2019.
