So far, CleanCo has released CleanGin and CleanRum – both of which have an alcohol strength of 1.2 per cent and cost £19 for a 70cl bottle.

It has also released cans of lowalcohol cocktails, with a 0.5 per cent strength. Year-on-year, sales are up 1,419 per cent, the company added.

Eton-educated Matthews, 32, who has been sober since 2018, said: ‘Nobody wakes up saying ‘I wish I drank more last night’.’

He added: ‘We want more drinkers to be aware that there are choices when it comes  to drinking high orlow-strength alcohol.’
