And Liev Schreiber and Matilda de Angelis, 25, transformed into their WW2 character as they donned 1940s-inspired costumes while filming in Venice on Monday.
While shooting scenes in the Italian city, the actor, 53, was seen falling over as he walked along a street before being joined by The Undoing star, 25, for a stroll.

Maya exuded glamour in a chic peach coat which boasted a structured neckline and was paired with some white trousers.
Her costume was completed by a brown belt and brogue shoes, while the brunette beauty’s locks were styled into loose waves.
Liev, who is playing a terminally ill middle-aged U.S. serviceman, also looked smart in his green trousers and jacket as well as leather boots and complementary gloves.
While shooting one scene, the star appeared to have some dark marks on his trousers, suggesting he had filmed a few takes of the scene already.

As he worked on the film, Liev sported a glint of sweat across his brow, showing how hard his character was working to make it along the road.
He appeared to be concentrating intensely as he stumbled along the street and fell to the ground before pushing himself back up.
A cameraman could be seen following the actor during the take, with another man walking alongside while donning a face mask.
In the film, Liev’s character Colonel Richard Cantwell falls in love with an 18-year-old Italian contessa called Renata.

Renata is played by Italian actress Matilda De Angelis who can be seen on the HBO mini-series The Undoing with Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman.
Set in post WW2 Venice, US Army Col. Cantwell, haunted by the war, is a hero who faces news of his illness with stoic disregard.
Determined to spend a weekend in quiet solitude, he commandeers a military driver to facilitate a visit to some of his old haunts in Venice.

However the current director is Spanish filmmaker Paula Ortiz and this September it emerged in Deadline that Liev was to play the colonel.

Screen star Liev was married to the actress, 52, for 11 years and the couple share two children Sasha, 13, and Kai, 11.
They split in September 2016 and have been very verbal in remaining friends in the years following their break-up.
