Coronation Street SPOILER: David Platt and his mother Gail bid farewell to the street as they move out of their home in emotional scenes

David Platt and his mother Gail (Helen Worth) are set to bid farewell to their home at No. 8 on the street in emotional scenes set to air on Monday’s double-bill.

The Platts have lived at the house for decades, but have been forced to make the difficult decision to leave the iconic street after Ray Crosby manipulated David (Jack P. Shepherd) into selling him the property last year.

David sold the house after Ray (Mark Frost) convinced him to do so when he couldn’t afford to fix a sinkhole that had appeared in their back garden.

Ray had persuaded David to sell No. 8 for his own selfish reasons, as he has acquired a number of properties in the area for his redevelopment project.

In emotional scenes, David and Gail will be seen walking through the empty house that was once their home as they pack up and move their final boxes with the help of David’s wife Shona (Julia Goulding).

Gail also tells her eldest son Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) that she has concerns about moving into a council estate at her age.

The question is, will Nick let his mother move in with him and his son Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan), instead of going to the flat?
