Channel Nine entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins has gained a legion of fans after years in the TV industry.

And on Monday, flamboyant son Christian, 22, proved he was chief among them.

Taking to Instagram, Christian shared a stunning portrait shot of himself with Richard in front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Christian wrote: ‘A collection of Australia’s greatest icons and me,’ before adding he and his father were having a ‘date’ night.

‘Having a magic date night at James Galea’s ”Best Trick Ever,’ he continued, which is currently playing at the Sydney Opera House.

Christian kept to his bold style choices, wearing a plaid skirt along with a floral semi-sheer long-sleeve t-shirt.

Richard kept to a more conservative look wearing a graphic blazer with tight black jeans and a black shirt.

A lover of the limelight, Christian has stepped out of Richard’s shadow in recent years thanks to his growing catalogue of statement-making red carpet appearances.

Christian, who came out as gay in 2018, never shies away from bold colours, textures and patterns, pushing the envelope in terms of both style and gender stereotypes.

‘People used to call me a girl all the time because I was a gay guy who was very flamboyant, and did dance and singing,’ he said on his podcast, Radical Fashionism, last November.

‘People always used to call me a girl, and I always found that such a strange diss, because I feel like in order to be offended by something, what they’re calling you needs to be offensive.’

Christian has been busy promoting his new series, Eden, on streaming service Stan.
