Hollyoaks is hit by COVID-19 outbreak as star Callum Kerr reveals he’s tested positive and must self-isolate with ‘mild symptoms’

Hollyoaks has been hit with a COVID-19 outbreak after star Callum Kerr revealed he’d tested positive for the virus on Friday.

The actor took to Instagram Stories to reveal he must self-isolate for eight days after suffering ‘mild symptoms.’

Callum plays PC George Kiss on the soap and is currently in the midst of one of the soap’s most hard-hitting storylines as he continues to abuse his boyfriend John Paul McQueen.

On Instagram Callum wrote: ‘Caught the virus despite only visiting work and food stores. ‘Tested positive Tuesday and again since to confirm.

‘That’s life. See ya in another 8 days, world. #staysafe.’

Callum reassured fans minutes later he was only suffering ‘mild’ symptoms, adding: ‘Thanks for all the messages, I’m all good.’
