Detailing how she perceived her weight in the past, Kate added: ‘People would talk about me like I was different, because I was slightly bigger than average. I was a size six.’

She went on to say that in Hollywood in the 90s was ‘completely riddled with very slender women in a way that was not entirely balanced’.

In Ammonite, the actress and Saoirse Ronan transform into lovers Mary Anning and Charlotte Murchison, who embark on an intimate affair.

The plot centres around the famous paleontologist, who becomes involved in a forbidden romance with Saoirse’s character after she they are sent to convalesce by the sea together.

Contagion, directed by Steven Soderbergh, explored a scenario in which a lethal and fast-moving influenza is spreading around the world, a topic that feels quite prevalent during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In December, the director revealed he was was reuniting with Contagion screenwriter Scott Z. Burns on the project, which he called a ‘philosophical sequel’ to the original film.

Speaking on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, he said: ‘I’ve got a project in development that Scott Burns is working with me on, that’s a kind of philosophical sequel to Contagion but in a different context.

‘You’ll kind of look at the two of them as kind of paired but very different hair colors. So, Scott and I had been talking about, ‘So, what’s the next iteration of a Contagion-type story?’ the director continued.

While he wouldn’t give any more details, he insisted they were hard at work on the story, but admitted, ‘We should probably hotfoot it a little bit.’
