Selena Gomez is smothered in kisses by her poodle puppy on the set of an undisclosed project

Selena Gomez has been hard at work developing products for her makeup line Rare Beauty, which successfully debuted in Sephora stores in September.

But the former Disney Channel star, 28, appeared to be returning to her acting roots as she shared footage from the set of an undisclosed project to Instagram on Tuesday.

Gomez, rocking a chic black turtleneck, could be seen exchanging kisses with her beloved poodle puppy, while hanging out in her dressing room.

For the brief clip, Selena placed the golden pooch in her lap and tenderly rubbed the sides of its head.

Staring up at Gomez with love, the little poodle eagerly planted several smooches on her nose, which prompted the star to let out a few laughs.  

The Wizards of Waverly Place actress is also the proud owner of a second poodle, who sports a fluffy white coat.

After giving her dog some TLC, Selena headed onto set with a grey mask over her mouth and nose for protection against COVID-19.

She explained to her 202million Instagram followers that she was the ‘only one on set’ despite there being a strict call time.

‘So, I am onset and nobody is here,’ said Gomez as she slowly panned around the highly curated space.

Made to look like a living room, the day’s set had three directors chairs placed in front of a fireplace, with one of the chairs possible featuring Selena’s full name.

The Spring Breakers actress had her brunette hair styled into a variety of voluminous curls and her eyes were accentuated with a generous amount of rich black mascara. 

‘Just waiting for my scene,’ continued Selena in a follow-up clip that showed her moving her eyes around the empty space.

Despite her eagerness to get her scene underway, Gomez did not reveal any details about the project to her devout fanbase.

But thankfully for fans of the Wolves singer, Selena announced on Monday that the second season of her popular HBO Max series Selena + Chef will be premiering on January 21. 

‘More chefs, dozens of recipes, and a handful of kitchen mishaps later… Join me back in the kitchen for the new season of Selena + Chef, premiering January 21 on @hbomax,’ she captioned, while also including a teaser trailer. 

‘As you all know by now I’m not the best cook,’ Gomez confesses in the teaser before adding that she’s ‘not going to stop trying to get better.’

‘So I’m back in my kitchen to get schooled by the best chefs,’ the Come & Get It singer declares as her song Dance Again, from her hit studio album Rare, plays in the background.

Selena actually celebrated the one year anniversary of Rare’s release on Sunday, writing: ‘Can’t believe it’s been a year since Rare was released. So much has happened but wanted to let you know I love you guys.’

Rare was released January 10, 2020, becoming her first No. 1, after dropping the singles Lose You to Love Me, Look At Her Now and the title track. 

She reflected on her year last month, telling Billboard: ‘There’s this bittersweet feeling, of course. I would much rather the world be in a better place.

‘Yet at the same time, it was so beautiful to see that my music could hopefully bring some people some sort of joy in the midst of it.’

As if the star did not have enough to celebrate, Selena also recently released the highly anticipated Stay Vulnerable collection for her cosmetics brand Rare Beauty.

‘IT’S HERE! And I love how easy these formulas are -you can now get your hands on my NEW @RareBeauty Stay Vulnerable Collection,’ wrote Gomez, who celebrated the launch on Instagram last week. 

Specifically for the ‘effortless’ collection, Selena created ‘five universally flattering shades for eyes, cheeks, and lips.’

She added that the Stay Vulnerable collection, as well as the rest of the Rare Beauty line, is available exclusively at Sephora stores and the brand’s official website.

Gomez, who encouraged her 202million followers to check out the products for themselves, included a few promotional images and a stunning selfie.
