Rebel Wilson’s dog grooming show Pooch Perfect is coming to America from Australia… with Lisa Vanderpump as a celebrity judge

Rebel Wilson’s Australian TV show Pooch Perfect has found a home on American network television at ABC.

The 40-year-old, who hails from Sydney, hostessed the first season of the dog grooming competition show on the Seven network in her native country.

However last October it emerged that the Seven was not picking up the show for the second season, which is now coming to the United States instead, People reports.

Rebel’s celebrity judges will be Lisa Vanderpump as well as a veterinarian called Callie Harris and dog-groomer-to-the-stars Jorge Bendersky.

Jorge charges at least $300 an hour to a client list that includes Gisele Bundchen, Diddy and Ralph Lauren, he told Business Insider last year.

Meanwhile Lisa was a Real Housewife Of Beverly Hills before quitting amid a feud with her co-stars involving her foundation Vanderpump Dogs.

Season two of Pooch Perfect, whose title is a pun on Rebel’s movie Pitch Perfect, will be eight episodes long with 10 contestants according to a press release.

The first season had the same amount of episodes and contestants but with dog stylists Amber Lewin and Colin Taylor as the judges.

All the contenders on the program are meant to be professional dog groomers and they will have their assistants on hand to help them.

At the 2021 Upfronts for the Seven network this past October it emerged that Pooch Perfect was not on their slate for this year.

During that time it was theorized that the ratings were the issue as the show lost nearly half its audience over the course of season one.

The first season was won by a pet salon owner called Wendy and her daughter Nikki who were presented with a cash prize of $100,000.

Although the winnings for the U.S. version of the show have yet to be announced the names of some challenges have – Ultimutt Challenge and Immunity Puppertunity.

The press release says contestants will ‘face off in epic grooming trans-fur-mations and showcase their incredible creations on the illustrious “dogwalk.”‘

Rebel posted an Instagram video announcing her big news this Wednesday and gushed that the show is ‘gonna be pawsome.’
