Michael Pena replaces Stanely Tucci on director Roland Emmerich’s Moonfall due to UK restrictions

Director Roland Emmerich’s new film Moonfall has added a few new cast members, including Michael Pena, who replaces previously-attached Stanley Tucci.

Tucci, 60, previously signed onto the big-budget space drama in October, though Deadline reports he was forced to back out due to a government-imposed travel ban on United Kingdom flights going into Canada.

Pena, 44, joins an all-star ensemble cast that also includes Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, John Bradley, Eme Ikwuakor, Charlie Plummer and Donald Sutherland.

Moonfall centers on a mysterious force that knocks the Moon off of it’s orbit, sending it on a collision course with Earth that could very well end humanity as we know it.

The story follows, ‘a ragtag team’ who head into space on a last-ditch effort to save life as we know it.

The team will leave behind, ‘everyone they love and risking everything to land on the lunar surface and save our planet from annihilation.’
