Kyra Sedgwick reveals husband Kevin Bacon had to give her a bikini wax in quarantine

She’s been married to Kevin Bacon for more than three decades.

And Kyra Sedgwick was comfortable enough with her husband to let him take a whack at waxing her bikini lines after months of being cooped up in quarantine.

The 55-year-old actress opened up about the ‘agonizing’ experience on Tuesday for Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she said it was a ‘miracle’ that it didn’t end with a trip to the hospital.

Ouch! Kyra Sedgwick, 55, revealed Tuesday on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that she had to resort to a painful at-home bikini wax from her husband Kevin Bacon, 62, while quarantining

Kyra told Jimmy that she turned to her husband Kevin after deciding she had gone to long without her standard upkeep.

‘It became clear at one point to me, to both of us, that I needed a bikini line wax,’ she recalled.

‘Part of me was like, “How hard could it be?” You know, I’ve watched these amazing ladies do it all these years, and like, I’ve always really appreciated them and appreciated their attention to detail, but I didn’t really think it would be that hard.’

Her 62-year-old husband’s jack-of-all-trades nature made her feel safe getting him to help.

‘Kevin, is like, incredibly handy. Like he’s really good with a lot of things… So we both figured, “How hard could it be?”‘ she added ominously.

Overdue: 'It became clear at one point to me, to both of us, that I needed a bikini line wax,' she recalled. She and Kevin have been together since 1988; seen in November 2019 in Napa, Calif.

Kyra went about researching to find the ‘best wax kit’ before finding and purchasing the optimal model, but neither she nor Kevin were prepared for just how difficult the waxing would be.

After she warmed up the wax and ‘assumed the position,’ it became clear that the process was harder than she had imagined.

‘I’m not saying it was a disaster, but the fact that we did not have to go to the emergency room was just an absolute miracle,’ she joked of the painful experience.

The waxing fiasco even left her doubting the seemingly capable Footloose star as she acted out their back-and-forth.

‘I mean there were moments where I was like, “I thought you knew how to do this! My God, what are you doing? That’s such a huge piece!”‘ she said.

‘And he was like, “I didn’t say I knew how to do this. You said I knew how to do this!” And I was like, “But you’re good at everything!” And he was like, “Well, I’m not good at this!”‘

‘So you found the one think Kevin’s not good at,’ Jimmy added for a laugh.

Kyra and Kevin married back in 1988 after meeting at rehearsals for the PBS adaptation of the play Lemon Sky.

Despite their decades-long marriage, she said the pandemic and their time quarantining had brought her even closer to the Apollo 13 actor and made seemingly mundane rituals more meaningful.

‘I come downstairs during this COVID time and I’m like, “How did you sleep? How’s your morning been so far?” And I really care. I really want to know, which is surprising,’ she said.

In July, Kevin also spoke about his strengthened bond with the actress to People.

‘We cook, we clean, we decide what we’re having for the next meal, and then we cook it, clean it and decide what we’re having for the next meal,’ he said.

‘Her partnership is invaluable,’ he added. ‘I found someone I was meant to be with.’

Closer than ever: Kyra said quarantine made her care about little moments with Kevin. 'I come downstairs during this COVID time and I’m like, "How did you sleep? How’s your morning been so far?" And I really care'; seen in 2018
